Case study: Lab-Med – pioneering solutions in patient care

From first steps to comprehensive diagnostics

The relationship between Labplus and Medical Laboratory Lab-Med, initiated over a year ago, is a story of continuous development that we’ve been regularly reporting in our news section. Initially, Lab-Med offered our result interpretation service in a commercial model – interpretations were paid for by patients interested in the service themselves.

This first stage of collaboration allowed us to gather valuable experience and understand the real needs of patients using laboratory diagnostics. We observed how important it is for them not only to have tests done but, above all, to understand their significance for their health.

New stage: support in test planning and medical assistance

After making interpretations available to patients in laboratories in a free format, we observed an increase in patients’ interest in health and the need to deepen their knowledge. This prompted us to take the next step – adding the ability to send questions to our medical team and expanding recommendations with supplementary tests necessary for further diagnostics and prevention.

The latest convenience is the ability to ask doctors questions directly in the system. Patients who have reviewed their result interpretation can send a message and receive a response from our team of specialist doctors. This allows them to resolve any doubts about test results and recommended supplementary tests. Lab-med, meeting patient needs, launched this new function as the first laboratory in Poland, confirming its position as a leader in laboratory innovations.

“Our system helps patients better take care of their health. When additional tests are needed, the patient receives this information immediately. Thanks to this, they don’t have to circulate between the laboratory and doctor’s offices with an incomplete picture of their health status. Using the interpretation, they immediately know which exact tests to perform and often return to the collection point before seeing a doctor. Our experience so far shows that supplementary tests are needed in about 70% of cases. If they have doubts about test results and recommendations, they can confirm them by asking our doctors for details” – explains Dr. hab. med. Siddharth Agrawal, CEO of Labplus.

What’s next?

The effects of this change are visible in Lab-Med’s daily work. More and more people are returning to the laboratory for further tests, appreciating clear explanations of results and guidance on next steps. Lab-Med shows a new face of diagnostic laboratory. It is no longer just a place for conducting tests – it actively supports both patients and doctors in the diagnostic process.

The system is constantly evolving, responding to needs reported by patients and medical staff. We are planning further improvements that will make it even easier for patients to use laboratory diagnostics and understand their results.
Join the laboratories of the future Lab-Med’s success has sparked interest from other medical facilities in the region. System implementation is simple and does not disrupt daily laboratory operations.
